July 23, 2014: Energy Efficiency in Healthcare: Improving IEQ & Patient Health

Our July Webinar focused on energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainability in the healthcare sector. This webinar acted as a follow-up to LABBC’s Healthcare, Energy, and Environmental Sustainability Conference, co-hosted by Kaiser Permanente.

At the event, which was held on May 22nd at the Goodwill Southern California Community Enrichment Center, one of the topics specifically addressed was the ways in which improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of a healthcare facility can improve the health of the patients and staff who use that facility.

Our call featured a panel of experts addressing this question, as well as highlight targeted projects that healthcare facilities can implement to reduce their energy and water use. This panel discussed real-world case studies and provide insight on effective strategies for improving the sustainability of healthcare facilities, medical office buildings, and hospitals.

Panelists:

  • Russell Fortmeyer, ARUP
  • Chuck Bragdon, Water Saver Solutions

Moderator:

  • Ben Stapleton, Director, LA Better Buildings Challenge
